The Slingsby T-21 Sedburgh affectionately known to many as “The Barge” must rank as one of the most loved of all Slingsby’s gliders.
A delight to fly it was found to be a robust and stable training machine. The RAF reffered to their examples as Sedbergh T.X. Mk. 1. Giving Air Cadets the experience of gliding the Sedburgh was found to be a robust and stable training aircarft. The RAF operated their examples until the mid- 1980’s where upon retirement the fleet was auctioned off.
Subject of a RAM Walkaround is Sedburgh WB922. This particular Sedburgh is still flying today. Owned by the 621 VGS Historic Flight it is based at Hullavington she can regularly be seen soaring above the Wiltshire countryside.
